As the clubs president I try to keep the club going in a forward direction. I'm
always looking for something that can promote the best light on us.
I get very frustrated and disappointed with the lack of participation from some
of the members. It’s very disheartening to have a net or monthly meeting and only a small number of members show up.
We have 44 members and I can only count on 5 or six members every time.
If it’s me I’ll step down, and if someone else can do a better job
to unite the group I’m all for it.
I know that this year was very difficult; we had some very serious stuff to work
out. We had the repeater purchase the property Insurance that demanded a lot from the club in the way of finances, the almost
loss of our meeting place, and of course the Field Day preparation put a strain on many.
As a club I think we handled everything OK and solved most of our problems, but
one problem that has to be addressed is, if the club intends to be a club we have to have your cooperation and participation.
The rest of the year will be very low keyed. The only activity the club has scheduled
will be the Klub Christmas Party, and a possible fall picnic. The Klub’s spring picnic was a huge success, and was held
at Waldo Park, so maybe a picnic in the fall would be appropriate.
I hope you all think about being more active, we all got into this hobby for some
good reason or another, and participation is important to have a good club.
